Godmoding
Its bad. I know its stated in the rules, but it bears repeating.
Cast Time (CT)
Though there are any number of spells, skills, or abilities that adjust CT one way or the other, here is how it generally works. CT means how many posts there have to be between activating the ability and it actually happening. For Magic, CT is equal to the level of the spell, for Skills, CT is equal to the level minus 1. For example, say Black Mage is fighting Thief, Black Mage casts Fire. After Black Mage casts fire, Thief has to post before Fire can resolve and own Thief. Thief, on the other hand, doesn't have to wait at all to steal some gil from Black Mage.
CT Modifiers
There are four basic modifies of CT, Haste, Quick, Slow, and Stop.
- Haste lowers CT by one.
When in Haste, a level 3 Spell takes two posts before it can activate.- Quick lowers CT to zero.
When in Quick, there is no wait time for any Spells or Skills.- Slow raises CT by one.
When in Slow, a level 3 spell takes four posts before it can activate.- Stop raises CT to infinite.
When in Stop, a player cannot Act or even move.
Also, there is a Time Mage S-Ability that reduces CT of Level 4 and 5 things to level 3, meaning that Ultima Blade would only take two turns before it can activate and three turns would be needed to cast Quick. There are other such S-abilities and some Mist Drives, so look out for them.
Health Points (HP)
At the moment we're opting to be more vague in this area. You should have an idea of something's power from it's level as compared to your own, so you are trusted to RP appropriately in this area. However, we do reserve the right to change this should this become an abused system.
Mist Points (MP)
This is not as versatile. A player starts out with 30 MP, and one with a Mage Class will gain 20 per level while a person in a physical class will ownly gain 10 per level. Some might wonder why physical abilities cose Mist energy, and this is because to preform at a super-human (or -Bangaa or -Veira) level, for the attack, the power of Mist is employed.
Experience Points (EXP)
Each battle and mission will give an amount of EXP, which will be kept track of on the Status page along with Level.
Leveling
At every new Experience Threshold, when an amount of EXP is reached, a character Levels Up. This amount is determined by a simple formula.Current Level * 150 = New Threshold
The threshold is not cumulative. So say you're level 7.
7 * 150 = 1350.
So to get from Level 7 to Level 8, you need to get 1350 EXP.
